Twenty years ago First Presbyterian Church celebrated the installation of a new pipe organ built by renowned Canadian organ builders Casavant Frères. In the two decades since, this instrument has provided the musical foundation for countless services and concerts, and remains the largest pipe organ in East Texas.
This grand occasion not only commemorates this amazing instrument, but also marks the debut of Texas’ newest professional chamber orchestra: New Texas Sinfonia. Praised for her “bracing virtuosity” (Chicago Classical Review), Canadian concert organist Isabelle Demers performs as soloist alongside New Texas Sinfonia for a celebration that is not to be missed!
